Useful Internet Marketing Strategies

Jodi

Internet marketing is considered as being one of the biggest opportunities of this century. The internet marketing is actually a tool that offers you the possibility to grow your business and to help it develop if used wisely. What is absolutely fantastic about internet marketing is that those who decide to use it have a lot of strategies at their disposal in order to make sure that their business becomes a successful and profitable one. Here are some of them that can help you become a better internet marketer.

For example, one of the details that count is how you treat your clients. In just a few simple words, you have to mind your manners! You won’t find an exact list of what to do and what not to do, but as long as you mind your manners and treat your clients or possible clients with respect, nothing can go wrong. In professional terms, this is called social media marketing and it is based on interaction. Why is interaction so important? Well, it has the power to create new relationships and relationships open the opportunities of sharing information about the services and the products you provide. So, good manners are essential when you plan using the social media marketing as tool for developing a business.

Another important strategy has to fit a few rules that apply on the internet. One of the best examples is the behavior of internet users. I am sure that you will be surprised to find out that men and women use the internet very differently. Men enter a physical store to buy exactly the things they have on a list, but women take their time and explore new products. This also happens on the internet: when a man logs onto a site, he searches exactly the items he is interested in, while women will visit all your pages to check all your products, especially if you are new on the market. This is the reason why easy access is important, as women clients play a very important role in the success of your online business.

The internet marketing has a lot of advantages, but you have to learn how to use them in your favor. For this, you will need a lot of time and effort, as well as a lot of dedication for what you do! It is not simple to be part of the huge internet marketing field, but it is not impossible either!

5 ways for monetising a website

Jodi

Although many folks create a website as an online presence for their businesses or online shops, there are many people creating blogs or informative sites that in time present the possibility of monetising. Whether it is about traffic transformed in clicks or targeted visitors transformed into buyers, there are several ways of making money from a site and this article will talk about the most popular ones.

1.    Pay Per Click
This is one of the most used methods for squeezing some money from a website. Basically there are programs that pay publishers for exposing ads on their website, publishers that get paid when visitors click on the ads. The most popular ones are AdSense and InfoLinks, however there are many others available out there, it seems Google’s AdSense is the most generous program available.

2.    Cost per action
Or simply said, CPA programs. Those are more profitable if applied “by the letter” but also much more difficult while the traffic a blog or site receives should convert into buyers. So just clicking on the ad will not be enough but an action is requested for publishers to get paid. Most well-known advertiser is eBay.

3.    Affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing seems to be the most popular way of making money online nowadays. By this marketing practice, publishers drive leads to products, if those leads transform into buyers the publisher gets commission. Amazon Affiliates and ClickBank are two of the top affiliate programs available nowadays.

4.    Link sales
Though this is a practice that does not stay under Google’s TOS, it is very popular among webmasters with high amounts of traffic and authority websites in different niches. The problem is not with the links selling but with the fact that usually websites selling links do not apply the nofollow tag to the outbound links they sell, thus if nofollow would be applied the link buyers would not  get the same benefits as before.

5.    Websites flipping
This is one of the most easiest way for making money online, though it involves creating not one but tens of websites, one after another. Basically the idea is to create a website (there are two popular methods: self-creating with the popular blog engine WordPress or getting into a partnership with web designers that could do this job), getting hosting, populating the site with content, building links and finally, when traffic and PR are making their way, selling on popular sites like flippa.com.

How to turn email marketing into website conversions

Jodi

Do you use email marketing campaigns to drive traffic to your website? If so, then you also need to make sure that you have a dedicated landing page that can act to maximise click-throughs and conversions.

By a landing page we do not mean a home page. A home page is designed to be all things to all people while a landing page can be specifically tailored to be all about follow-through. This is the place where you can post a special promotion or a proposition.

The best way to hook visitors in is to get straight to the point. Use a headline, or a banner, or bullet points, or a video and make the message clear. Tell the visitor what they will get from your site/promotion.

Think of a landing page as a mini-site that is specifically designed to optimise your on-line marketing visibility, conversions, sales and referrals. Then from this landing page you can encourage visitors to go through to your actual website.

You could think about having several landing pages to appeal to different sectors of potential customers.

To find out more about well-designed landing pages speak to your web designer – and also ask a copywriter to help you with writing the right messages.

The dos and donts of Twitter for novices

Jodi

Twitter is fast-growing and also a cheap and effective way to improve your business marketing campaign. So make sure you start as you mean to go on. Here we bring you a few dos and don’ts for becoming active on Twitter:

  • Do make sure you upload a photo or logo on to your profile instead of relying on the default icon. It shows you are serious about Twitter and it lets other tweeters know a little bit about what you look like.
  • Don’t leave your biography blank. Everyone who comes on to your Twitter site will want to know a little bit about who you are or what your business is about. Try to be interesting about who you are but keep it short, too.
  • Do tweet. Quite often follow requests come from “Twits” who haven’t even tweeted once. This doesn’t make you look interesting or attractive and could easily result in people not bothering to follow you back.
  • Do tweet about something topical, interesting, different or controversial. Or link to something that is interesting or informative. If your tweets appear to simply sell your products and so do not offer anything else in the way of interest or engagement than no-one will bother to follow you.

Don’t forget to keep on tweeting. People will be put off by Twits who do not have very much to say. Ensure you are tweeting regularly and engaging in a range of Twitter chats. The more you have to say of interest the more likely it is that people will want to follow you.

Further proof that vouchers are the key to marketing success

Jodi

It’s probably unsurprising to find that emails sent out with money-off coupons or vouchers are more likely to be opened than those emails without vouchers. Now a survey has revealed that in fact more than 80% of emails with vouchers included will get opened.

And while the research by Experian Marketing Services also revealed that some 70% of households that use coupons actually sourced their vouchers in newspapers and magazines, a fast growing number were also turning to the internet for voucher bounty. Over the last three years, the number of households that get their coupons online has increased by 46%.

The report also showed that more households are now using coupons at restaurants/fast food chains. Compared to 2006, 9% more people redeem coupons at restaurants.

So it seems even clearer that if you want to be successful in your email marketing, it’s worth considering some kind of voucher or coupon to drive consumers back to your ecommerce site.  And this is especially true if you’re in the food catering market.

More firms embracing e-mail marketing

Jodi

Predictions for 2010 are that e-mail marketing will show huge growth – compared to more traditional methods, such as printed advertisements.

Many businesses see on-line marketing tools as a more economical option and they believe this will be one of the main keys for revenue growth during uncertain times.

One recent survey by Campaigner shows that many more small businesses will be homing in on e-mail marketing compared to 2009 – and of these 82% believe such tools will improve revenue over the coming 12 months.

And the best news? On-line marketing is often a great deal cheaper than the traditional form.
A few words of caution though: there is yet to be a full-blown study to show whether on-line or off-line makes for more effective marketing.
