Problems with indexing backlinks?

Jodi

Many SEOs do not realise the importance of getting the backlinks they have recently created indexed.Although they might believe only building links to a website, the true fact is that most of the times only a very small fraction of all links created are indexed.

Here are some top notch tips for getting your backlinks found by Google, indexed and added to the whole picture:

1.      LinkLicious.me

This service can be accessed for free. Basically it creates RSS feeds from your backlinks and pings them until they get crawled.

2.      RSS Holder

Probably the most popular website for creating RSS feeds from backlinks and also for hosting those feeds was links2rss.com. However, as it was de-indexed by Google and also spammed to death, RSS Holder seems to be a nice alternative.

These are the steps you should follow:

-          Add your links and create an RSS from them

-          Submit the created RSS feed to RSS directories (there are many automation tools for this as well)

-          Bookmark it to as many websites as possible

-          Last, but not least, throw some Scrapebox/Xrumer links to all backlinks created

This will ensure a quick crawl by Google’s spiders and also a quick index rate.

3.      Drip feed services

Drip feed services such as Backlinks Genie or Dripable are getting more and more popular nowadays. Basically, you add a bunch of links to their dashboard and each they your links receive from 100 to thousands of links each day, thus ensuring your main backlinks getting indexed and also receiving some extra link-juice.

Thousands of backlinks in 1 day?

Jodi

How many times have you see ads like the above one? How many times did you encounter sales threads like that on webmaster forums? Have you ever considered outsourcing link building to companies/freelancers claiming to deliver thousands of backlinks to your money site? Think twice before doing this!

Search engines’ algorithms have evolved massively over the years and you should probably know by now that any unnatural link building campaign can do more harm to your website than raising its rankings. But how can this type of links harm your rankings?

First of all, link spikes play a major role in determining whether a company has engaged into using “black hat” methods to trick the search engines. It is unlikely that a website can receive hundreds of backlinks in a day or so, all anchored with a certain keyword and most of all coming from the same platforms (forums, blogs etc). When talking about massive linking we refer of course to:

Blogs – blog comments with Scrapebox/Xrumer

Forums – forum profiles with Xrumer/SenukeX/SickSubmitter

Social bookmarks – made with tools such as Bookmarking Demon and so on

The interesting thing is that these links have their place in a link building strategy, however not when it comes to linking to money sites. You can use these with great results on “buffer sites”, such as: social networking websites, guest posts, reviews and so on for getting more link juice to those, link juice that it is transferred to your money site, washed.

These days quality comes over quantity so before getting thousands of backlinks to your website, think twice and have a chat with an experienced SEO company that could tailor a safe strategy based on your requirements/website.

How to get contextual backlinks

Jodi

Although there are many methods to use in your link building strategy, according to Matt Cutts editorial links (in-content) seem to play a major role when it comes to search engine positioning. There are a few great ways for getting this type of backlinks for your website but your whole SEO strategy should not rely only on these.

Here are a few of them below:

1.      Reviews

There are certain websites that offer reviews for a service/product/other website, in exchange of nothing. It is quite difficult to find those and you should be aware of two things: a) the review will be most of the times un-biased, so expect negative “words” as well and b) you will not get most of the times the anchor you might want.

2.      Paid blog posts

There are lots of bloggers/webmasters that want to some more money in their pockets and most of them reveal this on their websites. You can search for “advertise” pages on the web (related to your niche) and see if they are offering paid blog posts or not.

3.      Guest blogging

Probably the most effective/safe method for getting contextual backlinks. Basically you are offering free content for their blogs in exchange of 1-2 backlinks pointing to your website, with the desired anchor text.

4.      Blog networks

With the arise of “in-content links” popularity, there are many investors raising networks of thousands of blogs made exactly for selling blog posts with contextual links. If you go with this route make sure you are choosing the right network and do not overdo it!

5.      Build My Rank

We have talked in the past about this great service and would still recommend it further. With about 1,000 websites in their “arsenal”, you are getting some good links from aged websites with PageRank, for the cost of $59/month.

Is link relevancy a myth or truth?

Jodi

Most SEO consider link relevancy one of the most important issues when creating backlinks (or driving links through link bait) for a website, but is link relevancy something really necessary?

Day by day we see websites in different industries ranking for competitive terms and the first thing we do is to check up their backlink strategy. Often we are amazed by the fact all their link building strategy is based on buying massive amounts of links from un-related link networks with hundreds of outbound links already placed on their pages and still, they are grabbing the top positions in Google, Yahoo or Bing, the top 3 players in this market.

But what is link relevancy anyway? Could we say a link from “how to build a pond” website for a “fishing” website is not relevant? Taking this one step further, a link from a hunting website is it relevant or not? Some say it is relevant, some say it is not. Just take a look on some of big websites’ backlinks strategy and you will learn some interesting facts about link building.

However, link baiting is considered one of the best ways of driving backlinks to a certain website but when getting thousands of links in days, how many links are actually relevant to your niche? And still, a successful link baiting strategy can literally skyrocket your rankings. But this has nothing to do with the “relevancy” but with other factors like: ip diversity, social networking propagation and finally (but not least), anchor text diversity. Even if the amount of links could be very high, you get backlinks anchored with text like: here, click here, see here etc, maybe even some with your desired keyword; most from non-relevant places. And still it works.

Still considering link relevancy 100% beneficial for your link building strategy?

The Perfect link: does it really exist?

Jodi

Grabbing some good backlinks for your website can be the difference between top 3 position and bottom of page 1 in search engine results. Of course, everyone seems to be running to find the perfect links for their sites but do those really exist?

We cannot say this for sure but we can show you some “tips” regarding what websites to target for your link building efforts.

1.      Website’s popularity and authority

A website that you want a link on should be an authority in its niche. Whether we are talking about thousands of backlinks or thousands of daily visitors, it must provide some real value to the industry and thus being a trustful website for the search engines.

2.      Same industry

There are many voices that claim relevancy is not of such high value as some folks think, but instead of risking this you should definitely concentrate on grabbing links from as many relevant websites as possible. Say you are in the web design niche, that does not mean only web design websites should be your target but also all-related sites to the online environment; from SEO websites to Internet marketing, those are all relevant in the eyes of search engines.

3.      High rankings

If the website already has some high rankings in search engines for some good keywords in your niche it could be a great choice for your link building efforts. Try to “ask” some related queries on Google and see what websites come on first page, these should be your target, whether they are blogs, Q&A websites or even Wikipedia…

4.      Number of outbound links

Always target websites that do not sell links and that are not a “link farm” in essence. Try to keep the number of outbound links on a page under 5. however, stay as far as possible from the “bad neighborhood”!

How to index your backlinks

Jodi

One of the most difficult tasks nowadays is not to create backlinks to your website but how to  make them get crawled by Google and indexed. With so many tools available to build from web 2.0 properties to links from bookmarking and so on, building bulk links is not a problem anymore however in order to have a value they must get indexed.

It is a misconception that once you have built let’s say 1,000 links they will count when Google searches to re-consider your website in its results; the links will count only when (and if) they are getting indexed. Other voices say “let Google naturally find and index your links”, but what happens if it never finds them? Obviously, you try to “help” the search engines index them.

Here are some methods for trying to make the most out of your links. The main principle of getting links indexed is to backlink your backlinks:

1. Ping

This is probably the easiest way to notice Google content/links have been added/change on a certain page. Although this does not guarantee faster indexation, it can definitely make Google crawlers visit faster that very page.

2. Rss feeds

Grab all your links, use a tool like links2rss, create some rss feeds from your links and add them to rss aggregators.

3. Use blog comments

This is a shadier method but can definitely work better and also add some extra link juice to your backlinks. Scrape some auto-approve websites (if Scrapebox finds them it means they are already indexed and Google crawls them often) and blast some general comments with the links to your backlinks. Once you have finished this, ping those pages where you place the comments for a faster visit by Google crawlers.

4. Use other web 2.0 sites

Create some general web 2.0 websites and use them for indexation purposes. Throw some content from time to time on them and also post your backlinks on those certain sites.

Although there are many other ways to get your links indexed, these above should definitely make a difference. It sounds like a manic work but it worth the hassle while a backlink means nothing unless it gets indexed by search engines.
